Before your visit to Merchantville Country Club. Please take the time to read the information below:
The United States Golf Association Rules govern all play, unless a local rule applies as noted on the scorecard.
Pace of Play:
An average round at Merchantville should take 3 hrs. and 45 min. Slow play is defined as any group who is behind the group in front of them by one full hole. Please allow faster groups to play through, regardless of the number of players in the group. Always carry an extra ball. Be prepared to play at all times. Be ready to hit when it is your turn and feel free to play ready golf. Always rake your own bunker and replace your own divot. Repair ball marks.
Practice Areas:
The short game practice facility (adjacent to the parking lot) is available for bunker practice and wedge only play. Designated practice areas are listed as follows: The putting green (putting and chipping), the short game area and the right side of the 5th hole (near the superintendents building). All golfers will refrain from hitting any practice balls off the 1st tee. All shag balls must be retrieved and not left on the golf course. Any questions regarding golf rules or etiquette should be directed to the Golf Professional.
Attire:
MEN: Collared shirts, mock turtle neck shirts that have at least 1 ½” collars, slacks,
Bermuda length shorts. Shirts must be tucked into your shorts / pants.
WOMEN: Skirts, slacks, Bermuda length shorts.
NOT PERMITTED:
- Cargo Shorts /Pants—Any pant / short with external pocketing (Permitted in the grill room and on the deck only.)
- Denim of any kin (permitted in the grill room and on the deck only. )
- Short-Shorts—bottom of shorts may be no higher than 2 inches from the top of the knee
- Crew Necks
- Tank Tops
- Tee Shirts
- Any Athletic Apparel
- Hats must be worn in their traditional style (brims to the front).
- No hats in the dining room.
- Shirt tails must be tucked in.
Guest Policy:
All guests must be accompanied by a member. Members must sign their guests in with the pro shop staff prior to play. Guests are permitted to play up to six times per year, excluding special events and tournaments.
Caddies / Carts:
Caddies are available upon request with 24 hours notice. Caddies are available during the golf season only. Carts are available from 8:00 am on Weekdays and 7:30 am on Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. Walking is permitted at any time.
Cellular Phones:
The use of cellular telephones on the golf course by members or guests is prohibited. Cellular telephones may, however, be used inside the clubhouse. Under extraordinary circumstances, members or guests may be permitted to use cellular telephones on the golf course if they secure the prior consent from the golf professional. In such cases, the cellular telephone must be in the vibrating mode at all times and the user must move out of the playing area while on the call. If the cell phone use impedes the play of the trailing group, such group must be permitted to play through.
Smoking:
The Clubhouse is a smoke free area. Smoking is permitted in all outside areas including our deck.

Take the Ben Franklin Bridge. Merge onto US-30 East and go 3.9 miles. Make a slight left onto Kaighn Ave / NJ-38 E and go 1.6 miles. Take the ramp toward Cuthbert Blvd. North / Merchantville. Turn slightly right onto Hampton Rd. Take the 636 N ramp. Turn slightly right onto Cuthbert Blvd cr-636 N / Cuthbert Road and go .02 mi. Turn right and a quick left onto Hampton Road / CR 623N.
Turn right onto Chapel Ave West. The entrance to the clubhouse will be on your right.
From North Jersey
Take the New Jersey Turnpike. Merge onto NJ-73 via exit 4 and go 1.9 mi. Merge onto Kaighn Ave/ NJ-38 W and go 3.3 mi. Turn right onto Chapel Ave and go .6 mo. The entrance will be on your left.
