The 1st hole provides an excellent opportunity to get off to a solid start provided your tee shot finds the fairway. For the longer hitters, this par 5 provides an instant risk/reward decision, as the play to the green must cross a ditch and two large bunkers. There is no room behind the green, so the shot must be precise. A safe play will be a lay-up with the second shot, leaving only a short iron or wedge into the green.
